Childbearing labor, we often hear, begins when a woman has contractions. But for many women, the labor begins long before that with undergoing fertility treatments and struggling through pregnancy loss. And for most, labor continues long after birth in the months of feeding.

In this site-specific installation, Emma Royer beads every minute of breastfeeding her daughter for six months. She stitches together dozens and dozens of her ovarian and uterine ultrasound images; she takes the data accumulated around her body and reappropriates it in a work expressing both loss and hope.

For the month of October, we’ll be accepting diaper donations for WestSide Baby. any time during open hours Thur - Sat.
