Give: Now through 501c3!
We are excited to share that we are now fiscally sponsored by the 501c3, Northwest Film forum! Donations are tax-deductible and go directly to programming and the artists we love. Give now online!
Why give?
We are a non-hierarchical, artist-forward gallery, collaborating closely with the artists to show work that needs to be seen. Many exhibitions are entirely non-commercial or installation-based, and for works that are for sale, the gallery works on a low, sliding-scaled commission.
We’d like to keep doing this, and you can help!
Are we a nonprofit?
We are fiscally sponsored by the nonprofit Northwest Film Forum. This shelter organization verifies that our funding goes to excellent arts programming. Northwest Film Forum is a 501(c)3 organization and our tax ID number is 91-1702331. No goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions to our fiscal sponsorship program.
Give online here or by check, made out to Northwest Film Forum with ‘The Vestibule’ written in the memo field: Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122
Do we take volunteers?
Yes! We have many roles to fill. Just reach out to home at the vestibule.org for more information.
Do we show emerging artists?
Yes and no. We show work that needs to be seen by mature, mid-career and emerging artists. Many of our artists have received grants, residencies, and awards. But these don’t come with exhibition space. Especially for installation, time-based and participatory projects, a noncommerical space is essential to artistic growth and the art community. We often exhibit work that would flourish in an institution rather than a commercial gallery. We show work that needs to be seen even if it isn’t for sale.
Do we sell work?
Yes, sometimes you can buy work from the artists at the gallery and online. We take a small commission — 10-25% — on a sliding scale. Traditional galleries take a 50% or more commission. That said, many of our exhibitions are primarily noncommercial or installation-based.
Do we make money?
No, we donate all our time and money to make this happen. We take no salaries and any funding goes directly to programming.
